John Bloodworth

John is one of NAWA's long-time members and has participated as a teacher in our classes as well as an exhibitor/competitor in our annual shows.  Be sure to check out his wonderful carving of the Seven Dwarfs which was the 3rd place Best of Show winner in the 2013 show (pictured on the Home page). He has a fabulous video on YouTube showing the carving of this piece from start to finish.  You can go to his web site/blog and view some of his other accomplishments.

Steve is an extremely talented caricaturist and a member of the Caricature Carvers of America.  He carries their incredible books plus a huge array of caricature rough-outs which I can personally attest, carve up into fabulous finished pieces.  You can also find kits for clever kaleidoscopes, pens, a number of books, including those written by him,  and more.  You can also purchase Steve's supplies at our show in November.

Dylan's business is now located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. An incredibly talented carver,  he exhibited and competed with us for many years until he moved out of the area. Dylan has been the recipient of numerous awards for his work in shows around the US and you can see samples of his work in our Show Winners galleries  He has just had a book published, Carving and Painting the Sea Captain.  A picture of the captain is shown here.  He accepts commissions.  Check his website for more information.

Our members swear by Heinecke's Northern Wisconsin basswood for their carving needs.  They have an online catalog that lists pre-cut sizes but they will cut to your specifications at no extra charge.  They also carry rough-outs by some well-known artists.  While they do not take charge cards, they will ship your order and then bill you.  Really great folks to deal with.
